Nalani is looking for a logo refresh for her crochet business. She is considered the “Crochet Fairy God Mother” of her community and provides exclusive and custom designs that are completely hand made. She is in love with knick knacks and hopes to have all of her favorite things featured in her logo and used as icons alongside. I began by creating three mood board directions.

I studied Nalani’s social presence and all of her custom work to create an image of her brand. She liked the first and third directions. Then I drew 10 logo drafts. Nalani imagined her logo as her surrounded by all of her favorite things. She listed those things as flowers, eyeballs, mushrooms, hearts, stars, frogs, and ducks.
Nalani liked her face in sketch 2, the bracelet in sketch 3, and the look of sketch 5.
Now it's time to go digital.
Nalani enjoys images 2, 3, and 5. Funny she chose those again. She mentioned that she likes the coloring of 5, the larger crochet hook in 2, and the type of 3. I combined those icons into the ultimate logo.
I also created icons out of all of her favorite things. That way she can use them on her socials for fun embellishments.
Then I took her fresh new logo design into illustrator to clean it up.
Nalani has an extremely colorful brand, as it is based around her clients having complete creative control. So I provided her with a handful of color palettes.
She narrowed it down to 1,4, and 6. I found a happy mix of the three. Nalani loves that we landed in a rainbow direction.
I created these auras out of the palette.
Pinning down where to put every color in the rainbow is no simple task. I started by presenting my client with these options:
Nalani liked color option 2. I suggest that we add a circle around it to maintain legibility. She agreed. I then applied the colors to the logo and icons.
Further, she asked if I would be able to help her organize the orders she has been receiving over direct message. I suggested we create a website to streamline all of her requests and make everything manageable. She agreed. I began by collecting copious photos of the products my client was looking to sell. She asked that the website be very fun and colorful. I added a gradient of her brand's colors behind each product so they could appear as stickers on the website.
Nalani has some very intricate and impressive crochet designs. A lot of people have been enjoying her work and wearing them out in the world. So I created a gallery page to showcase all of her work in action.
Once I created these aspects I tacked them onto Nalani's website.
Nalani has revolutionized fiber craft with her ability to learn and adapt to any request, so I made sure to create a contact page were you can insert your individual requests.
As a cherry on top, she request that I make her a business card with a qr code and the auras I had created before.
